Microsoft Word problems
Some very minor errors that do nothing more severe than show a message can throw off automation. One error occurs sometimes with the following message:
Word cannot open the existing "[square]"
(Where "square" is an empty square between brackets.)
So, if you get that message, please follow these instructions:
1. Open Word.
2. From the Help menu, choose "About Microsoft Word"
3. Note the version at the top. It might say SR-1 or SR-2 (or SR-2b).
If it doesn't say SR-anything, then you want to download and install both MS Office SR-1 and Office SR-2 from the following web page:

If the about box says SR-1, you would only need SR-2.
If you're already on SR-2 or SR-2b, then nothing needs to be done.
